Vision
Mission Hills is more than a beautiful place to live—it’s a community built on shared values, thoughtful planning, and a deep commitment to preserving what makes this city special.
For 75 years, Mission Hills has stood out as one of America’s most respected residential communities—known for its park-like setting, timeless architecture, and ideal location near the heart of the Kansas City metro. We’ve held onto these qualities because generations of our residents, city leaders, and volunteers have worked together with a clear vision and steady leadership.

As a candidate committed to continuing that tradition, I believe the key to our success has always been community involvement and smart, responsible governance. Here’s how we’re continuing to protect and strengthen what matters most:
-
Safety First: We’ve prioritized strong relationships with our Police, Fire, and Emergency partners—along with substantial smart investments in technology—to keep our neighborhoods safe and secure.
-
Financial Responsibility: Mission Hills is in a strong financial position, with a balanced approach that protects taxpayer resources while supporting key priorities.
-
Active Civic Leadership: Our professional City Staff, engaged volunteers, and citizen-led committees work with transparency and collaboration to guide decision-making and ensure residents have a voice.
Looking ahead, we’re making meaningful progress on multiple important initiatives. Some of those initiative include:
-
Restoring Eisenhower Pond and preserving the city's historic landmarks and statuary
-
Caring for and replacing our vital tree canopy as trees mature and reach maximum lifespan
-
Conduct a thorough analysis of the 6400 State Line property with citizen input on the most effective options for repurposing/redevelopment
-
Continuing the long standing effort of enhancing connectivity and walkability throughout the city with emphasis on traffic and pedestrian safety across our neighborhoods, including special focus on scooters and e-bikes
Mission Hills is thriving because we continue to invest in what matters—our safety, our surroundings, and our sense of community. With your support, I will continue to work hard to protect the character of our city, listen to residents, and lead with common sense, accountability, and respect for our shared values. Let’s keep Mission Hills strong—for today and for generations to come.
